Geotechnics
Geotechnics is one of the fundamental pillars of civil engineering, as it deals with the behavior of soil and rocks in projects and constructions. Its importance is directly related to the safety, stability, and technical feasibility of any construction.
As a crucial point in structural safety, geotechnics ensures that the soil has the capacity to support building or infrastructure loads, defines the ideal type of foundation, studies the impact of water on the soil, prevents problems such as erosion, liquefaction, or slope instability. Moreover, an adequate geotechnical study allows choosing more economical and technical solutions for foundations and earthworks, reduces the risk of rework and costly corrections during construction, and prevents settlements, differential displacements, and structural collapses.
Services provided:
- Shallow and Deep Foundation Design: We develop foundation projects for residences, buildings, and other structures, considering soil conditions.
- Slope Stability Analysis: We assess the stability of slopes and embankments to ensure the safety of structures and infrastructure, evaluating geotechnical risks associated with engineering projects and developing solutions to mitigate them.
- Plate Load Tests: We evaluate the allowable soil pressure for the settlement of structures and infrastructure to ensure they remain within acceptable limits. Example: residential footings, industrial floors, etc.
- Load Test: We carry out tests to determine the load capacity of piles, assessing the safety of foundation projects.
- Geotechnical Monitoring: We perform geotechnical monitoring to track the behavior of structures and infrastructure over time.
- (This one, if we know any partner surveyor)
- Technical Consulting: We provide technical consulting for engineering projects, including the evaluation of geotechnical risks and the development of solutions.
